The Dice Forum proudly announces the inauguration ceremony of the Tree Plantation Drive and the KITAB Community Library Project at the Sundas Foundation. This significant event marks a pivotal step towards environmental sustainability and educational enhancement within the community. The Tree Plantation Drive aims to promote ecological awareness and foster a greener future by engaging local residents in tree planting activities. Simultaneously, the KITAB Community Library Project is designed to provide accessible educational resources, thereby encouraging a culture of reading and learning among all age groups. The collaboration between the Dice Forum and the Sundas Foundation exemplifies a commitment to community development and environmental stewardship.
The DICE Forum organised a tree plantation drive and inaugurated the KITAB Community Library Project at the Sundas Foundation Thalassemia Centre in Islamabad as part of its efforts to promote environmental sustainability, education and community welfare. The event brought together policymakers, diplomats, civil society representatives and development stakeholders to highlight the importance of practical, community-based initiatives that support social impact and sustainable development. Minister of State for Law and Justice Barrister Aqeel Malik attended the event as chief guest, alongside Ambassador of Bulgaria Mrs. Irena Gancheva, High Commissioner of South Africa Mr. Rudolph Pierre Jordaan, representatives from diplomatic missions and Air Vice Marshal (R) Aftab Hussain, Director of Sundas Foundation.
Importance of Tree Plantation for Environmental Sustainability
Speakers emphasised the need to strengthen environmental responsibility, promote reading culture and expand educational opportunities for underprivileged children. The tree plantation drive symbolised a commitment to climate resilience, while the KITAB Community Library Project was launched to improve access to learning resources and encourage literacy among young students. Participants also highlighted the importance of collective action in addressing climate change, social welfare and public awareness, including the need for preventive measures against thalassemia in Pakistan. The initiative reflected DICE Forum’s focus on translating policy ideas into practical solutions at the community level, complementing broader national conversations on climate action such as the #BreathePakistan initiative.
